In 2011, Aratere had a new 30-metre mid-body installed, along with a new bow, new stern profile, new propellors, and a new interior, as part of a multi-million dollar extension and refurbishment project carried out at the Sembawang shipyards in Singapore.  You can watch a 7 minute video of the project here.
