Interislander - Cook Strait Ferries

Become a Summer Cabin Attendant

Are you a student looking to work in the hospitality industry over summer, or do you want a change and love the idea of working for one of New Zealand’s most iconic brands?

We are recruiting cabin attendants who are available between October 2023 and April 2024 to cover our peak summer season.  The work is varied, the team feels like family, and the benefits are great!  But don't just take our word for it, hear what last summer's cabin attendants have to say...

What does a Cabin Attendant do?

You'll be with our passengers right from when they step on to the ferry to help ensure that they have an awesome experience across Cook Strait.

On some days, the ferry might be bustling with commercial vehicles and their drivers. On others, it could be full of eager families and tourists. You'll become the 'go to' person for passengers, answering their questions, helping them find their way around the ferry, and ensuring their overall comfort during the journey.

The ever-changing nature of the job will keep you on your toes, and teamwork is vital. As a Cabin Attendant, you'll collaborate with a diverse group of colleagues and work together to make each crossing a success.

Enjoy the views from the office

Every day you'll be surrounded by world-class views just outside the window. Dolphin sightings are regular and sometimes you may even see a whale!

You'll work on a walk-on, walk-off basis which means when you end your shift, you'll go back to the comfort of your own home. This means a Wellington home base would be beneficial!

Build strong bonds

This is a really collaborative team environment. You'll train with a group of new Cabin Attendants and will work together to achieve the shared mission of delivering an awesome customer experience. And, you'll have a lot of fun along the way!
