Organised by the Queen Charlotte Yacht Club, the Interislander Optimist Regatta is the South Island’s largest junior yachting competition. It’s held every summer in February.

About the Interislander Optimist Regatta

Fondly known as 'The Interislander', the Interislander Optimist Regatta is the South Island's largest junior yachting competition. Featuring a programme that combines competitive racing with camaraderie, the event is an exciting experience for sailors and their families. Every race comes with a picturesque backdrop of Marlborough Sounds scenery.
